So. Aroostook High School Senior Madison Russell is a member of the So. Aroostook Chapter of the National Honor Society, will graduate with honors in June. and has earned numerous academic awards. Madison has served as the Class of 2023 Vice President her Freshman year, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years. Madison has also participated on the SACS Prom Committee and been an active member of So. Aroostook Scholarship Fund for the past four years.
Madison has been very active in high school athletics in her time here at So. Aroostook. Madison has played Varsity Soccer for four years serving as a captain this past season. She has earned All-Aroostook Honors in soccer three times in 2020-2022. Madison has played Varsity Basketball for five seasons 2018/19-2022/23 serving as team captain this past season. She has been a member of four Regional Championship teams and three State Championship teams. She is a career 1,000 point scorer and has earned All-Aroostook honors four seasons 2019/20-2022/23. Madison has been named twice as the Bangor Daily News Class D Tournament MVP in 2022 & 2023. Madison has also earned All-State Maine Honorable Mention honors in 2020-2023, named a MABC McDonalds All-Star in 2023, an Aroostook Senior All-Star in 2023, and a Miss Maine Basketball Semi-Finalist in 2023. Madison has also played three seasons of Varsity Softball in 2021-2023 earning All-Aroosotok Honors all three years 2021-2023.
Madison has also participated in a variety of community service projects. She has volunteered at the So. Aroostook Basketball Camp, the SACS Annual "Share the Warmth" Clothing Drive, the SACS Community Service Day, and the SACS Food Pantry.
Madison currently works part-time at Anderson's Mill Pond Dairy Bar in Hodgdon, Maine. Her future plans are to attend Saint Joseph's College of Maine and major in Nursing. Madison also plans to continue to play basketball for the women's basketball team. Madison is the daughter of Brett and Kim Russell.
