In an attempt to be as transparent as possible, we would like to update you on information we received today. We have a parent of a student that has tested positive for Covid-19. The student will be quarantining and is not symptomatic at this time. The student will be engaging in remote learning until further notice.
We will continue to follow the Maine CDC Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures. Currently, no other student or staff member here in the building is a direct contact. We are continuing with in-person instruction tomorrow.
Also, a reminder to parents to not come in the building when picking up their children during the school day. Please call the office, wait in your car, and we send your child out to you.
Maine CDC recommends prevention measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These measures include proper hand washing with soap and warm water, which is especially important after using the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. When soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands and avoid close contact with people who are sick. Cover your cough, or sneeze into a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. Also, please continue to wear masks and practice social distancing.
For school specific questions please contact Kathy Chamberland, School Nurse. Thank you.
