Career and Technical Education at Region Two in Houlton

 A variety of vocational courses are offered for Grades 9- 12 students through the Region Two School of Applied Technology consortium, which includes Katahdin, Southern Aroostook, Houlton, Hodgdon, and East Grand High Schools. These are strong, work-oriented programs that meet all day, every other day and offer four credits a year. The emphasis is on providing students the background and skills they need to enter the workforce. Transportation is provided by Region Two.  All students are required to take the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute Test (NOCTI) in each of the following programs.  

Region Two Programs include: AUTO BODY REPAIR AND COLLISION, AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY, CULINARY ARTS, EARLY CHILDHOOD OCCUPATIONS, ELECTRICAL TRADES, EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN, FOREST MANAGEMENT & OPERATIONS, HEALTH SCIENCE, LAW ENFORCEMENT, WELDING/METAL FABRICATION, INTRODUCTION TO MEDICAL PROFESSIONS, & MECHANICAL SERVICES TECHNICIAN

 So. Aroostook currently has forty students attending Region Two for the 2020-21 school year with six  freshman,  seventeen sophomores, ten juniors, and  seven seniors.

Region Two is currently accepting applications for the 2021-22 school year.  Any So. Aroostook students should see Mrs. Greene as soon as possible to fill out an application.
