Sophomore Alexia MacLaren has been working on an independent project for her Spanish II class. She taught Mrs. Desmond’s second graders some colors words in Spanish.
This group of students painted the elementary playground equipment building. There were also other groups that helped mover risers for graduation, clean-up the SACS Food pantry, clean-up around the school grounds and playing fields, update and change some bulletin boards in the building, and other small paint jobs. What a great day for our students!! Thank you to the staff who made it possible. Special thanks to the NHS Advisors Meagan Brooks and Brittany Brewer and the SACS NHS members for organizing and overseeing the event. Well done!!!

The Southern Aroostook Community School District was saddened to hear of the passing of longtime educator Mrs. Judy Putnam. Mrs. Putnam taught in the middle school here at SACS. She was an outstanding teacher and colleague. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this time.

So.Aroostook high school softball team lost to Katahdin High School this afternoon 3-0.
In the top of the seventh inning, down by 1 run, with two outs, and an 0-2 count, So.Aroostook senior Jacob Brooks comes up with a big two run single to left to put the Warriors in the lead for good with a 5-4 win over Katahdin High School in Stacyville.
So. Aroostook/Houlton pitcher Garret Harvey went the distance on the mound to pick up the win in an outstanding performance.
Katahdin pitcher Bradley Hotham picked up the loss but threw an exceptional game.
Great high school baseball game played by both clubs.
