Yesterday the Special Education staff proudly wore their "Celebrate Inclusion" shirts in support of Special Olympics and to help promote ways for people to support inclusion in and out of school settings.

Ms. Fitzherbert's Anatomy & Physiology Class toured the UMaine Nursing Program yesterday. The $70,000 mannequin in the picture actually simulates child birth. The technology and resources available to the nursing students is amazing. Thank you to MELMAC for sponsoring this tour for our students.

Outstanding representation from our SA students! They had an excellent day at Special Olympics! Aaron Goulet took first in the softball throw, Jaron Violette took first place in the 100 meter run, and Annie Stevens first place in the softball throw. Kianna Nason second place in the running event. We even got to see some SA alumni Mr. Christopher Mitchell. Thank you to Mrs. Brewer for making all this happen and to those who came out and supported these hard working students!

Every year a student from each class in grades 4 through 8 is chosen to represent our district at the Young Authors Institute at UMPI. This Friday, these young authors are doing just that! Congratulations to Jasmin Rush, Kendal Lawlor, Tessa Russell, Lily Casey, Thatcher Lawlor, Ellie Moon, Ashton Lawlor, Jeremiah Green and Hadley Hatch!

Some of our students from So. Aroostook High School attended a college tour today and participated in HUSSON Alive at Husson University. This is a free day-long event hosted by the New England School of Communications and the College of Business at Husson University.
Students participated in their choice of hands-on educational workshops. Students also enjoyed lunch in the dining center and attend an entertaining closing event at the Gracie Theatre.
So. Aroostook High School students were honored today by the Houlton Rotary for their outstanding leadership, service, and academic achievement.
