Tonight, The Southern Aroostook basketball team, band members and fans are encouraged to wear Pink in support of the many people impacted by Cancer for our Annual "Pink Out" Game. All proceeds from tonights game will be donated to Cancer Research. Many of you may have known a special fan of ours, Charlotte Durr, who collected money at the door for our Junior High and High School Basketball games. After a courageous battle with cancer, Charlotte passed away on January 1st, surrounded by her loving family. Charlotte spent many years as a School Counselor at Katahdin Middle/High School and Southern Aroostook High School. She spent 43 years in education serving students and families in rural Maine. After retiring, Charlotte worked 11 more years as a TRIO Talent Search Advisor at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. In total, she worked 54 years in public education! Join us tonight as we celebrate the remarkable contributions Charlotte made to our school and community. Her kindness, wisdom, and passion for education will continue to inspire us.
