So. Aroostook Community School is saddened by the news of the passing of legendary educator and basketball coach Phil Faulkner. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, former players and colleagues. Coach Faulkner spent his lifetime teaching, coaching basketball and soccer, umpiring softball games, and serving as an athletic director. He is a member of the UMPI Hall of Fame, The Maine State Legends Hall of Honors and the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame. Phil had spent the last several years coaching at So. Aroostook High School in the boys basketball program as the middle school boys, the junior varsity boys, and the asst. varsity boys basketball coach. Last winter, Coach Faulkner and Coach Russell helped lead our boys team to our program's first State Championship since 1991. His impact as a coach and a mentor to our student-athletes will be long lasting. We were very fortunate Phil had the opportunity to work with kids. Thank you Coach!!

Wanted to recognize Brayden Peters and the effort he’s been putting into our JV/Varsity basketball broadcasts this year. He’s been up top for every game and last night was no exception. When a full slate of school activities on Thursday night left us short handed, Brayden stepped up to run the whole show. Great job Brayden!
