So. Aroostook High School Alum Hannah Brown, Class of 2021, was recognized at the University of Maine Augusta 2022 Commencement, for her completion of a certificate in dental assisting. Hannah, who is 18 years old, as the youngest UMA 2022 graduate. Hannah was able to take college classes in high school as part of the Early College Program which provides free college classes for high school students. Congratulations Hannah!!! Hannah is a great example of the hard-working students who are taking advantage of these programs at So. Aroostook High School.

Another busy day for So. Aroostook Spring sports teams!! The So. Aroostook High School baseball team (5-4) and softball team (7-1) play at Katahdin High School, game time at 4:00pm. Also, the So. Aroostook Middle School baseball (4-3) & softball (6-0-1) teams play at home vs. Houlton at 4:15pm. Good luck to all of the teams!

Congratulations to the So. Aroostook High School softball team on picking up their fifth win of the season with a 4-3 victory over Ashland High School. Emily Stewart knocked in the game winning rbi and also made a great catch in the outfield to secure the win.
So. Aroostook High School baseball team lost 12-3 to Wisdom High School this afternoon. We had a special guest at the game today. Reona Porter of Patten, who is 98 years young, had the opportunity to watch her great grandson from Wisdom play. Her grandson also serves as the assistant coach. She is pictured here with the team.
Aroostook Right to Read sponsors a book cover contest each year. This year, three So. Aroostook Middle School students entered the contest. Lyndsie Beaulieu, Ruth Greene, and Kason Lawlor. All three students did a great job. This year, 8th Grade student Kason Lawlor was chosen as the Aroostook County winner. Congratulations Kason!!
A reminder to RSU 50 parents/guardians, pooled testing for Maine schools has been suspended by the State. Pooled testing will be suspended at So. This week, seniors at So. Aroostook High School are presenting their Senior Capstone Portfolios to family, friends, and staff about their academic and personal growth in their time at So. Aroostook. Students also get an opportunity to share artifacts that demonstrates their learning. Pictured her is senior Emily Skinner with a mural she is creating as part of her Art Class experience here.
