Congratulations to RSU 50 School Nurse Kathy Chamberland on her selection as a recipient of the 2021 Maine School Boards Association Distinguished Service Award. Her steady guidance during the pandemic, endless contact tracing, pooled testing, coordination of vaccination clinics, and running the school health office distinguishes her as a much deserved recipient of this award. The kitchen staff delivered a great meal, the SACS Middle/High School Band led the parade, and the teachers, staff ,and students who were outside during the parade waving their flags in appreciation for our local Veterans. TRIO Advisor Ken Ervin presented the benefits of the TRIO Program to Southern Aroostook sixth grade students today. TRiO College Access Services helps students with the motivation and skills they need to get into college, and then to succeed and earn a degree. Services include tutoring, college visits, assistance with college, scholarship and financial aid applications, college entrance test preparation and numerous other services meant to address specific barriers to college.
