Southern Aroostook High School senior Ariana Given is participating in her second year in the Bridge Academy Maine program at the Region Two School of Applied Technology. The Bridge program provides academic rigor that is grounded in real world application. Ariana is enrolled in the Nursing/Phlebotomy course at Region Two this school year and will graduate with several college credits.

Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School students Haylee Given , Lily Rush, & Brooke Shields on their acceptance into the Bridge Academy Maine program at the Region Two School of Applied Technology.

The Bridge program provides academic rigor that is grounded in real world application. Each of the girls will take three to four Bridge/Dual Enrollment courses per year in the program, graduating with at least 24 transferrable college credits. All three of the girls are also enrolled in the Health Science/Medical Terminology course at Region Two this school year.

The College Board National Recognition Program awards academic honors to high-performing students to help them stand out to colleges and celebrate their hard work. Students of all backgrounds from schools nationwide are eligible to claim an award based on their achievement on AP® Exams and/or PSAT-related assessments. By claiming a National Recognition Program award, eligible students have a tangible way to share their academic achievements with colleges and scholarship programs.

Southern Aroostook High School is pleased to announce that Isabella Martinez received the “Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award” and the “School Recognition Award." Congratulations Izzy.!

The Southern Aroostook High School golf match at VaJoWa Golf Course scheduled for today, Friday August 29, 2025, is canceled due to weather concerns.

The makeup match will be on September 17th at Mars Hill Country Club at 3:30pm.

This past school year,, Southern Aroostook Community School 7th grade student Addison Sutherland wrote a business letter to Books-a -Million(BAM). The letter was an assignment given by her 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Harbison. Students are asked to write a business letter to one of their favorite businesses, ask three questions about the company, and to share why they are their favorite company. Addison wrote a thoughtful, curious, and heartfelt letter.

Earlier this week, we received a letter from the Chairman of Books-A-Million. In appreciation of Addison's letter and the important work we do to inspire students like Addison, Books-A-Million sent $5,000 in gift cards to Southern Aroostook to expand teacher's classroom collections. BAM also sent Addison $150 in gift cards for Addison.

Good luck to the Southern Aroostook Middle School Girls & Boys Soccer teams in their opening games today vs. Ashland. Game time is 3:30pm. Games were originally scheduled to be played in Ashland, the games are now being played in Dyer Brook.

Due to the predicted thunderstorms tonight's Southern Aroostook High School soccer games @ Van Buren High School have been postponed.

Game's will be made up on Friday, September 19th. Boys 530pm / Girls 700pm.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the PI vs. Southern Aroostook girls' soccer game scheduled for 10:00AM on Saturday, August 23 has been canceled. The boys' game will be played AS SCHEDULED at 11:30AM. The bus will now leave at 9:00 AM.
