Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School senior Skyla Lewis on her acceptance to the University of Maine at Presque Isle for Secondary Education and also the University of Maine! She plans to attend the University of Maine, majoring in Art Education.


Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School student Emma Stubbs on earning Student of the Quarter for the 1st quarter at the Region Two School of Applied Technology in Houlton! Emma participates in the Welding Program.

Good luck to the Southern Aroostook High School girls and boys basketball teams in their home games tonight vs. Central Aroostook High School. Games time s are 4:00pm for the JV Boys, 5:30pm for the Varsity boys and 7:00pm for the Varsity Girls.
This is also Senior Night for the Varsity Girls team. Seniors Libby Anderson and Olivia Ellingwood will be recognized for their contributions to the Southern Aroostook High School Girls Basketball program. They have been members of three State Championship Teams.

Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School sophomores Ruth Greene, Jazmyn Ellingwood, and Lily Rush-alternate for being chosen by the high school staff to attend the Maine Youth Leadership(MYL) Conference for their outstanding leadership and character.
The conference will be held at Saint Joseph's College in Standish, from May 15th-18th, 2025. MYL has worked with Maine youth to seek out, recognize, and develop leadership skills. The goal is to motivate Maine's future leaders and create a network of civic-minded students who will better their communities through volunteering.

Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School sophomores Brooke Shields, Emma Stubbs, and Lily Rush-alternate for being chosen by the high school staff to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Conference(HOBY) for their outstanding leadership and character.
HOBY is a great fit for students who: are passionate about their communities, have leadership potential, understand and relate to the experiences of others, are curious and eager to learn, are interested in service, are adaptable and self-reflective, like to collaborate and work with others, demonstrate good character, have a strong sense of integrity, & are excited to connect with peers across the state. The conference will be held at the University of Maine Farmington from June 13th-15, 2025.

On Tuesday, January 28th the Blackhawks High School Hockey Team will be celebrating their seniors. Southern Aroostook High School Senior Krayton Hogan will be one of three seniors recognized. The. Blackhawks will be taking on OldTown/Orono High School at 6:00pm at the Millar Arena in Houlton. Fans are encouraged to attend the game, wear your jersey, paint your face, or do something fan worthy to win a prize. There will be a special student section with drawings for door prizes. Come out and support the Varsity BlackHawks.


These fourth grade builders want "views" for their inside recess project today. Hopefully it warms up and we can get back outside soon but they're making the best of it in the meantime!


Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School senior Hailey Goodall on her recent acceptance to the University of Maine at Presque Isle, the University of Maine at Fort Kent, and the University of Maine at Farmington. She plans to attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle to study Psychology.

Southern Aroostook High School Senior Mackenzie Lilley has been accepted to the University of Maine at Presque Isle, Northern Maine Community College and The University of Maine. She has been accepted to the College of Education and Human Development with a major in Elementary Education. Mackenzie has also awarded an annual merit scholarship from UMaine in the amount of $3,000 annually due to her academic success. Congratulations Mackenzie!
