The So. Aroostook High School Baseball game scheduled for today at Washburn High School has been postponed. The make-up date for the game is Thursday May 12th.
Congratulations to the So. Aroostook High School Baseball and Softball teams on their wins over Fort Fairfield High School this afternoon. SA softball team won 28-1. Callie Russell hit a inside the park grand slam to lead the way for the Warriors. Sa Baseball team won 11-1. Buddy Porter pitched a complete game two hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Congratulations to So. Aroostook Middle School student Ashlyn York for winning the Americanism Essay Contest sponsored by the Elks Lodge #835 in Houlton! The essay theme was: "What does it mean to love your country?" Ashlyn's essay also won at the State level! Ashlyn attended the Elks State Convention this past weekend to receive her award and also read her essay at the convention. She got a standing ovation!! Great job Ashlyn!!
Students from SACS middle/high school band performed today at the All-Aroostook Music Festival in Presque Isle. The music was fantastic. A copy of the performance will be posted in the following days. Please be on the look out for the link. Congratulations to all who performed.
Next week, May 2-6, 2022 is National Teacher Appreciation Week!! Here at So. Aroostook Community School, we are planning some special gifts for our teachers and staff to help show our appreciation for the inspiring work they do everyday with our students. We are also asking for your help. Thursday May 5th, is our community/parent/student appreciation day. We are asking for members of the community to send an email, a note with their child, a post on social media, or other creative ways to recognize and acknowledge their child's teacher, ed tech, bus driver, kitchen staff worker, custodian, school counselor, etc. We will also be featuring our amazing staff all week on our social media pages. The Dirigo State Program will be held at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine from June 19-24, 2022. The program helps students develop leadership skills and engage in the democratic process
