Congratulations to So. Aroostook Middle School student Ashlyn York for winning the Americanism Essay Contest sponsored by the Elks Lodge #835 in Houlton! The essay theme was: "What does it mean to love your country?" Ashlyn's essay also won at the State level! Ashlyn will have the opportunity to attend the Elks State Convention to receive her award and also read her essay at the convention. Well done!!

Mrs. Greene has been working on a project! Prom dresses by donation are in Mrs. Williams’ room and available to SACS students to borrow for free. Dresses can be signed out with Mrs. Greene in the HS office. Thank you, Mrs. Greene for helping our students “dress for less”!
Mr. Vetter brought in this very cool example of what happens to your Christmas trees when they are given to goats! Thank you Mr. Vetter and Sophie for bringing this in for our students. It’s made for some interesting breakfast conversation and lots of smiles each morning!

Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School Senior Ennara Billotti on her acceptance to the University of Maine at Presque Isle and also to the University of Southern Maine. Ennara has also received a $3000 Dirigo Scholar Award from University of Southern Maine.

Congratulations to So. Aroostook High School Senior Esther Greene on her selection as the State of Maine Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award essay winner!! With the award, Esther has earned a $200.00 scholarship.
The So. Aroostook Community School 8th Grade class is raffling three Easter Baskets. Tickets are $1 each, available now through April 13th
Tickets can be purchased from 8th grade students or from the HS Office
Each basket contains toys, crafts and candy (lots of candy!)
Winners will be drawn on April 14th (drawing streamed live on the RSU 50 Facebook page). Winners can pick up their basket on April 15th
SACS Food Pantry at 1:00pm today. Plenty of food available.
