
A few of our National Honor Society students here at Southern Aroostook High School are volunteering at the Special Olympics in Presque Isle today.



Our elementary students had the privilege of having Kim Ridley, visiting author, work with them today.







Mrs. York’s fifth graders learned about the amount of salt in the oceans. They created “tiny oceans”, compared the weight of plain and salted water, and created a landscape where their tiny oceans evaporated and left salt plains.


Congratulations to Madalyn Given on her acceptance to the following institutions; University of Maine Presque Isle, Eastern Maine Community College, Central Maine Community College, & Northern Maine Community College! Maddie has accepted an offer to attend EMCC in Bangor for Early Childhood Education! Congratulations, Maddie!

Southern Aroostook High School earned the 2023 "Service Above Self" Award at the Houlton Rotary today. The award is given annually to an area school for their commitment to community service. Thank you to the Houlton Rotary for recognizing our students for their outstanding service to our community.


So. Aroostook High School students are attending the annual Houlton Rotary Luncheon this morning for their outstanding academic achievement, leadership and service. Thank you to the Houlton Rotary for hosting this great meal and recognition of our students accomplishments!


Mrs. Noyes and the band students are visiting the Bangor Symphony Orchestra today.


Congratulations to So. Aroostook High School juniors, Bridger Noyes, Cami Shields, & Bailey Vose on their selection to Dirigo State. These students were chosen based on their outstanding leadership, service, and character.
The American Legion, Department of Maine Dirigo State is a comprehensive, experiential learning, youth leadership program. It is designed after the Maine State government, where all students come together to create their own town, county, and state governing bodies.


So. Aroostook Band members were able to take their annual Spring field trip to the University of Maine to hear the Bangor Symphony Orchestra.


Last Friday, May 12th, Grade 10 students from RSU29, RSU 50, MSAD 70, RSU 84, & RSU 89 had the opportunity to participate in tours of businesses in our area. This event was an opportunity to visit various career opportunities that may be of interest to the students. Thank you to the area school counselors and the area businesses for creating this great learning experience for our students.

So. Aroostook High School Senior Alexia Maclaren marched and participated in the Northern Maine Community College graduation ceremony this morning at The Forum in Presque Isle. Alexia graduated with a Liberal Arts Certificate. Alexia is the first high school student to receive a certificate at graduation from NMCC. Alexia will be graduating from So.Aroostook High School in June. Congratulations Alexia!!!
